What is web design?
Web design can be thought of as simply the process of creating a digital advertisement page for your website. Like any form of advertising, a website should be created to help increase your business's ROI. At webspider, we like to create websites that are able to effectively bring traffic onto the site, promote the business's services and turn that website visitor into a new lead for the business. Web design is part UX design (user experience) part UI design (user interface) and part development, the building of the website itself.
How much does it cost?
Web design can vary greatly in price, depending on the requirements of the website itself and the agency creating the website. Our most basic package, perfect for small businesses that don't need a complicated website but want to promote their services and bring in more traffic, starts at £1,250. This includes designing the site itself and creating it on WordPress. For a more complicated or larger site, that needs to be custom coded, the price can be several thousand.
Why do I need a website?
Before taking the plunge, it's worth asking yourself 'do I need a website..?'. Not every business needs an expensive website, sometimes a quick and easy Wix site is all you need, and this is something you won't need an agency for. However, if you're planning on growing your business and targeting new areas, promoting new services etc. Then you may well benefit from a new and well-designed website.
Why we love Tunbridge Wells
From the Old Highstreet, to the Pantiles to Calverley Park, we love Tunbridge Wells! Operating in Kent, at Web Spider we are very familiar with Royal Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas. Therefore, we are always excited to work with businesses in and around the area.
Do you offer web design outside of Tunbridge Wells?
We do! We offer our services across the whole of the U.K and even worldwide. Tunbridge Wells may be one of our areas of note, but it certainly isn't the only area we operate in.
How does our web design process work?
Our web design process all starts with a phone/video call. We establish your business's needs and exactly what kind of website you will you need. After this, we begin to carry out necessary research on your industry and competitors. With all this information we can design the foundations of your website and how such a site can help you achieve your business goals. Once we have the foundation designed we begin to implement the 'design' part of the web design process. Finally all that's left is to develop the design into a fully responsive and pixel perfect website.
Do we use WordPress?
Wordpress happens to be our favourite CMS for standard websites. It's actually what this site and many other industry leading sites are built with. Where possible we always encourage the use of Wordpress as a CMS. So in answer to the question, yes we do use WordPress, definitely.
Can I write a blog for my website?
Are you looking to start your own blog for your new website, or just transfer your old blog across to your new site? It's something that we strongly recommend, since a blog is great for getting discovered higher uo in the search results. Therefore it's something that we can definitely setup for you as part of your new website.
Do keywords matter?
Keywords definitely matter. If you use the wrong keywords on your site, especially when it comes to the h1 and title tags, then Google may have a hard time understanding exactly what your page is about and what search terms you should be showing up for. As a result, you'll be less effective in targeting your ideal audience base and you'll receive less relevant traffic and less traffic in general.
Are your websites fast?
Website speed has never been more important and it only continues to become more and more important. Not only is it a ranking factor, taking into account when indexing your website but research has been done to show that the average website user is only willing to wait around 3 seconds for a website to load. If a site take longer than 3 seconds then users will click click 'back' rather than wait for it to load. The longer the website takes, the more will leave instead of wait. Therefore, we make sure all our websites are lightning quick and get very good scores with Google's Lighthouse speed checker.
